The original painting
of this pegasus was painted in oil on canvas, and I
gave it to a friend. I liked the image enough, though,
to re-do it for my portfolio. The new piece (above)
is painted in oil on illustration board. I worked from
the preliminary pencil sketches that I drew to create
the first version. I improved on the original by adding
reflections of the hills in the river and adding a misty
looking border to separate the mountains. A photo of
the original painting is at the left.
