Postcards are
used with varying success by businesses as flyers,
coupons and information packets. Mailing houses
are generally used to distribute the cards because
they can do it more cheaply and efficiently than
an individual. A successful card must grab the
viewer's attention immediately, or there is a
great likelyhood that it will be thrown in the
trash before it is even read. Another strategy
that should be utilized is to target the people
on the mailing list, those that will most likely
be interested in the product being promoted or
households in a specific area. Postcards
are usually 8.5" x 5.5", 4-color process on front
and black ink on the back. Occasionally color
is used on both sides.
